This Request for Tender (RFT) describes a project to prepare and paint the Gordon Lightfoot auditorium walls and two turrets of the Orillia Opera House. The building is a designated heritage building pursuant to the Ontario Heritage Act, (R.S.O. 1990, C.O.18).The City of Orillia is looking for a skilled General Contractor, capable of performing all activities associated with the conservation of the Orillia Opera House within the budget and timeframe allotted for this project. Work is to be done by contractors experienced in heritage restoration. It is imperative that great care be taken with the existing building fabric and finishes. All work is to be done in conformance to heritage conservation principles. Work affecting the building is to be carried out by trades skilled in heritage work to the standard that is described elsewhere in the contract. |
